Hi,

Hoping someone can help.

In 2013, we went through court proceedings for my step daughter. We were granted a Residency Order, A contact Order and A Prohibited Steps Order.

Last year in 2014, my step daughter's Mother took us back to court because contact had broken down, a contact order was then made.

It has now come to light that my step daughters mum thinks the Contact order made in 2014, supercedes the Contact Order in 2013 (yes we agree with this) but she seems to think that the Contact Order made in 2014, means that the Residency order (that gives me parental responsibilities as I am named on the court order), and the Prohibited steps order are no longer in place because of the 2014 Contact Order.

If anyone knows the answer that would be really helpful.

Thanks.

Unless they are specifically revoked on the new Contact Order, the Residence and Prohibited Steps Orders will still be valid.

No they haven't been revoked, just checked the orders, and the Order made in Dec 2014, was a child arrangements order relating to contact.

The order in December states

7)Agreements/Agreed Arrangements for the child:
The child will live with the father
The Father agree to make the child available to visit/have indirect contact with the mother as follow (then the details of contact)

by consent, 1 child arrangements:
that the arrangements for the child shall be set out at paragraph 7 to this order.
