Asking for friends - Semi retired ex legal professional with social work and family law experience looking to earn part time wage. Is setting up as a Mckenzies friend a reasonable proposition in North Wales any advice or experiences welcome thanks .

A good McKenzie will have excellent prospects of picking up work for parents undergoing divorce. With the effective end of legal aid there is a shortage of good MK's alongside a growing mass of parents looking for inexpensive legal advice.

A good place to start would be joining Families Need Fathers, which despite the name, is a charity working for both male and female parents and has an ethos of shared parenting and non-confrontational divorce. Lots of members look for recommendations for MK's.

And do read the court rules and guidance and MFs and what their role is before going ahead. You might find North Wales not a very prosperous area so a bit had to find customers but try it.

Yes Jilly - I think they can also cover chester and manchester so a few more pennies
