Why would I have a £100 refund from HM courts?

As The title suggests really. Have discovered that HMCOURTS-SVS.GOV deposited £100 in to my account yesterday!
I paid a speeding fine for exh about 4 months ago which was £100but that was from a different account. Anyone heard of this before?

did anyone find out what is going on? I just £100 and this post is worrying me that something is about to happen :-(

its not the courts charge are they arent refunding that ( altho word on the street seems to suggest that they wont chase it after two years...)

I bet signage was shown to be illegal or something

OR maybe you paid a fixed penalty then it went to court, the JPs thought you need to come IN to court as your speed is so high -

I too checked my bank and have a £100 refund from a fine dating back to July 2015. Want to know what to expect and why they would of refunded the fine

Been told they would only refund you the fine if you have failed to send in your licence. They will then send you a letter of a higher fine and a fine for failure to send licence :-(

Anybody got a resolution on this.Just got £100 back in my account from hm courts.cant find a phone number for them. I paid online but never sent my licence - it was never requested.i paid in belief that it was 'attached' to my licence!!! Im not paying the extended fee!!!

I also had £100 returned and finished paying £408. can't get onto the courts site. any ideas ?

Hi, I have just had £100 refunded into my bank, I got an email on Saturday evening saying refund requested so I thought it was some sort of scam but now the money is in the bank.
Unsure what to do next.

I can't believe that this is still happening after 3 years. I have just had the same deposit but now they have a phone number on the statement. They have been waiting since June for my license which is apparently demanded on p3 of the original pcn document I received. I would have thought that they would have added a text or email reminder to send it in after a certain amount of time. Almost a scam!

Did you send his license off or just pay the fine?

I had this - didn't know I had to send it. They refunded my and took me to court. 4 points instead of 3 and a bigger fine

I got a court summons for exactly the same for not sending in the licence, they never asked for it, I payed the fine of £100 and still not seen the refund. Can we let them know it was a geniune mistake and can send the licence now will they endorsed and send it back. Anyone on this thread know what happens??

i got caught doing 37 in a 30 zone and got fined £100 back in June, paid the fine and today ive had the money refunded to my account ?

The answer is above, did you send in your driving license in time?
If not that’ll be why, if you did it was either late arriving with them or another part of the procedure wasn’t followed.

Ring your local court and ask, or wait for the summons to arrive

I have just received this payment, after reading entire thread I’m going to be looking out for a court summons. However I haven’t paid any tickets etc in last few months
