Need advice for family member...possible marriage breakdown

My family member has been married to her h for 13 years. They have 2 school age dc.
He earns a lot of money (especially in the past few years) and works away a lot.
She has never had her name on the mortgage - even her car is in his name.
I have tried to advise her in the past but it has fallen on deaf ears.
She has a bank account but does not get any child benefit or anything like that so her only income is what he gives her.
They have a large house on an IO mortgage which is in negative equity.
Her car is on finance.
She is very unhappy - has been for some time - but I think it's only just hitting her how badly he treats her and the dc.
He is an awful h and father. He treats her like dirt.
I am pretty sure he has been squirrelling money away for some time but my family member does not have access to any accounts except her own.
What is her legal position if she left?
What would he have to legally provide?
Thanks for any help you can give x

She needs to consult a lawyer who specialises in family law and can give detailed advice on her situation. She will be entitled to a fair share of the assets regardless of whose name they are in but no-one here can say what that would look like. If the children live with her following the split she would be entitled to child maintenance. She may also be entitled to spousal maintenance but again it is impossible to say for sure based on the information here.

Thank you.
I have got her a leaflet from a local solicitor.
