My child's father is taking me to court for custody of our child. He believed I was going to move away with the child. I was not going to.
He has submitted an urgent contact order and currently has custody. Whilst we wait for the hearing, he told me I could have our child for the weekend (this coming weekend). I have a solicitor but they're useless, taking days to respond. Through frustration and knowing my solicitor would not respond to his in time I asked another solicitor for advice. They said that this weekend's contact arrangements can be arranged simply by my child's father's solicitor emailing me the arrangements for the weekend direct. It's then my responsibility to meet the arrangement (as if I don't I'm breaching the temporary court order). My child's father is saying his solicitor will not allow this, it has to be done through my solicitor or I can only see my child with his father present. Please can someone tell me what they know of this as I'm due to engage a new solicitor tomorrow but my appointment isn't until the end of the day and my child's father is saying that will be too late for this weekend. It's been 16 days since I saw my child last - when it's not ever been longer than 4 nights. I hate to think what my child thinks, please can someone advise as a matter of urgency. Thank you.
