What documentation / correspondence do you have from the original claim a year ago? Did you make contemporaneous notes of any phone calls with your insurers at the time?

Zombie really isn't sure why, if the other party's insurers accepted liability a year ago, your insurance company should be concerned about the current claim.

However, Zombie is not a lawyer. Her late DH was and he specialised in insurance claims working for the insurance companies. But whatever she learned from him is 25 years out of date.

Her recent experience is having had an extremely bad 2007 with car claims. She drowned her 10 month old car in the summer floods. Insurers repaired with a new engine and few other bits and bobs. The day she collected it after the repair, she drove 3 miles to her in-laws for a coffee. Came out of the house 30 minutes later to find another car embedded in her car's rear end. Her car had also been shunted into the car parked in front. She was very thankful she had an extensive record of both claims.

I was I a minor bump 18 months ago. I've had many calls from personal injury lawyers wanting me to make a claim. Often basically telling me its my right to get some compensation, and that I don't even need to prove an injury. I wasn't injured so always hang up, but I'm not surprised others are persuaded to try it out....

The same people who complain the premiums are always rising...
