Probate form - I don't know the answer to some of the relatives section

Hello, I am trying to fill out the probate PA1 form for my nan's estate and I'm stuck on section B4 as her family were a bit rubbish at keeping in touch. The questions are as follows:

A - Brothers and sisters who survived the deceased - definitely none
B - Brothers and sisters who did not survive the deceased - pretty sure it is 7
C - Children of those in 4B who survived the deceased - this is where it gets tricky, I know of 5, but there could be more. Can I put 'unknown' or 5 in this box or do I have to know for sure? (there is a will, so doesn't matter anyway)

Maybe put this in chat for more traffic

If there is a will then I wouldn't worry. It only starts to matter if there is an intestacy or partial intestacy ( where a gift in the will fails completely and so the intestacy rules would apply to that part of the estate).

I think "unknown" or "at least 5 " would be sufficient.

I've just completed probate for my mum. They are very helpful on the phone so give them a call.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I did ring them, the chap said 'unknown' would be ok as there is a will.
