I'd call Police non-emergency and tell them about it tbh.

Can you think of anything sinister other than tactic of burglers disabling phone before breaking-in? This is what I'd assume if it was me. Although would they still bother as everyone has mobiles now... hmm, still odd though, they have to be purposefully cut ime.

We had the same thing, well sort of.

When we eventually noticed (our internet was still OK, and we hardly use the house phone) we phoned BT, who sent someone out.

It had been cut through by some engineers working on a neighbour's phone line. It was all fixed, for free, on a Sunday. I was very impressed.

If you mean that an actual criminal, stalkery type has cut your line, then yes, call the police.

My first thought would be a burglary coming but I would ask next door if they have had work done. But I'm paranoid about being broken into.

yes there was a break in so they cut off the phone so that it would make it difficulot to call for help They als locked the front door so the victim could not get out

You should definitely have told the police about cutting the phone line then, when reporting the break-in.

Some people are shits, its creepy and scary.
