Bits of ceramic stuff in supermarket seeds

I know this is a small issue but I don't know what to do, what would you do?
I cut my mouth and possibly chipped a tooth this morning eating some snack seeds I bought a packet of from a supermarket.
I won't know if I did chip my tooth but I suspect I did as it really hurt when I bit into whatever it was.
I got the foreign object out and it looks like part of a large ceramic thing of some sort.
I guess I take it back into the store-I've tried calling the customer service line but no answer, I wanted to warn them in case they need to take the product off their shelves. It's going to cost me a lot to get my tooth fixed if it does need fixing -am I allowed to stress that they pay for that? And the appointment to check if I have damaged my teeth?

You could contact your environmental health department who would investigate it for you. They may be able to confirm what the foreign object was.
Do you know for sure that the foreign object was in the seeds. I presume that because you were eating them from the packet you are Smile
What type of seeds were they?
Most supermarkets are quite reasonable but obviously they have yo prevent themselves from being scammed. If you are only going to claim for dental work then it may be more straightforward than if you are thinking to claim for full compensation.
I would be wary about letting the supermarket take the foreign object as it is your evidence. However, it is hard for them to investigate where it came from without it.

Keep the item until you've spoken to the manufacturer.

Speak to the supermarket and give them the full details and batch number (email as proof) so they know to be aware that there may be a problem with some packs.

Poor you! Can you get to the dentist quickly? I just chomped into a dried prune with a whole stone in it (ouch - first time that's ever happened to me!).

Thank you for the replies.

I know for sure it was, thefuckerson, I was eating the seeds (pumpkin seeds) straight from the packet, then felt a crack as I chewed, tasted blood :/
Spat out what I was eating and sifted through and noticed something a similar colour to the seeds but definitely not a seed, ceramic, very sharp edge.

Thanks nicename :)
I can get to a dentist thankfully, though not happy at that as I have only jsut had my routine appointment a month or so ago and not keen on forking out for another, even if I do manage to get it compensated!
Ugh, It's horrible isn't it!I'm quite finicky about dental health as well, panicked a bit if I'm honest.
