Several years ago my best friend was awarded a settlement of a lump sum from her XH's pension when he retired. He retired about a week ago and has told her that he should receive the lump sum within 10 days. He is supposed to send the settlement money to the LSC so they can deduct her contribution to costs before sending the balance to her.

Does anyone have any idea how long this process is taking now?

Thanks.

Presumably her solicitors bill was paid a long time ago. The LAA (no longer LSC) should turn it round within a month. They will of course need a few days (I think it's 2 weeks these days) to make sure the money isn't going to be recalled by the payer's bank, and then they should pay it out. Your friend may need to chase them.

Thanks, Collaborate. I'll let her know that.
