(posting on behalf of friend with no internet)

friends ex has had no contact with their 3 children in 4 years, friend is now married (2 years) and changed the children's names via deed poll online at the same time to her new married name, she did not realise that her ex even though absent still had parental rights and should of been asked, the ex had been in a relationship which has recently ended and all of a sudden has decided to take friend to court for access and to and have the children's names changed back to his. she can not afford a solicitor and as there is no legal aid she is going to have to do this herself when/if it goes to court, can anyone offer any advice...thank you

If she can't afford a solicitor I would suggest she invests in the book "Family Courts Without a Lawyer" by Lucy Reed.
