Can my ex-h force our child to attend a residential school trip?

We divorced 5 years ago, I have custody of the DCs. DS2 doesn't want to go on this trip. Ex-h says he should go and is accusing me of putting DS2 off.

Is there any way he can force me to send DS2?

To avoid drip feeding I should add that DS2 is 8, has learning difficulties and autism. He attends a SN school. He has gone on this trip in a previous school year but is adamant he doesn't want to go this year.

By the way, the trip is voluntary. Non attendees go to school as usual.

He could try to get a specific issue order from the courts. Short of that there is no way he can force you to send your son on this trip.

Thanks. I can't see him taking it that far then and the trip is in 3 weeks time.
