I've just started divorce proceedings and it looks like I'll have to go to court as ex and I can't agree on division of assets. If the court orders the house to be sold how long will this process take.

It's rather like asking how long is a piece of string. If no agreement can be reached it can take many months or even a year or so to reach the end of the court procedure and a final ruling. Then a buyer has to be found, conveyancing needs to be done and there can be delay enforcing a court order if one party doesn't comply. Fortunately most cases settle by agreement during proceedings if not before.
