Car badly scratched (kid's drawing?!) in railway station car park. What to do?

Can anyone offer advice please?

DD1 and I got back from a day out in London today and found that my car had been badly scratched in the station car park. There is one long scratch across both doors, and a few "scribbles", including one that looks like a shark fin or a wave. It seems like a kid has drawn on my car with something sharp. (Hooray, they can match the love heart that DD1 drew on the other side with a coin a couple of years back Hmm).

There are CCTV cameras in the car park but unfortunately it doesn't look like any were pointing directly at my car. I went to the station office but no-one was there.

Is it worth contacting the police and/or the company who runs the station? We're going to get a quote to get the damage fixed and I might want to claim on insurance (depending on cost), so would I need a police report for that?

Nothing to do really. Get a quote and put it through the insurance. I would class it as found damaged. Police won't be interested

I would tell the police so they have a record of it, just in case they catch the gits.
