Implications of a Declaration of Parentage

Following on from the post regarding changing a birth certificate.

If a court ordered DNA test proves a father not previously on a birth certificate is the father - would this then constitute a declaration of parentage and go on the birth cert. via the court and would that then mean they get automatic parental responsibility rights? www.gov.uk/adding-fathers-name-birth-certificate

It's not automatic but they can apply to the court for pr. I've found that courts normally award pr unless there's a BIG reason not too.

Once they have pr they can have their name added to the birth certificate.

Thank you. I was hoping that was the answer.
My ex has never seen his now 7 year old son, so has no attachment, nor has he ever provided any support so also unlikely at this point.
