Trespass of neighbour's cavity wall insulation....

My problem is this:
We live in a terraced property. The property on one side was sold to new neighbours. They had cavity wall insulation installed via the Government's 'free' scheme and have lost the paperwork / can't remember the contractor details. We went to have our house insulation done on the British gas 'free' scheme. The surveyor took one look and said that the neighbours insulation has negligently been installed as it has come across the cavity and filled some of our cavity. This is a problem as the insulation types then have to be the same to prevent condensation...and basically we have no easy way of finding out, so we can't get the work done by the Government scheme or at all. ( I am going to get a second opinion).
I am thinking that we need to start considering making a claim off the neighbours premises insurance for the loss of value to our property due to the fact we cannot get it insulated due to their contractors negligence. Two torts, negligence and trespass. Any advice or similar experiences of Mums out there? Thanks in advance

What do your insurers say?

Can't they take a sample of the insulation to match/identify it ?

My DB drilled into his wall outside and found the type of insulation used in 1984.

Hi - just wondering what you've done about this?

I've recently had British Gas out and they've said our neighbour's wall insulation has trespassed into our property. We've asked the neighbours who did their insulation, but they said it was years ago and they can't remember. Is there any way I can find out and attempt to get ours done for free, considering it would have been free under the government scheme?
