Could a solicitor please point me in the direction of a template for a 'Solicitor's Declaration'?

For DP to access my work benefits as a family member we need to have a solicitor's declaration to the effect that we have lived together for at least two years. Our solicitor offered us two choices: pay her £50 to draw one up and then find another solicitor to sign it or draw one up ourselves and pay her £5 to sign it. We're going for the DIY job but I know nothing about the declaration (had never heard of one before work requested it) and don't know how to tell if I have found the correct template online.

Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

I think you mean statutory declaration.

Maybe, sorry I'm not sure. I'm not at work today. It was brought up when I had the job offer but we weren't going to take it until my job became permanent and it was worth the expense of the letter.

At the time it was described as a letter that the solicitor signs (and it was definitely '[something] declaration') to prove that we are together. Is that what a statutory declaration is please?

It is a sworn statement, and can be about anything.

It's a declaration by you, not by the solicitor. The solicitor just witnesses your signature.

Have a google under Statutory Declaration. You can just get a basic template and then fill in the necessary bits.
