How do I find out if someone who has died had a bank account?

They died in 2007.

Haven't got a copy of original death cert, but have the original coroner's report.

I'm also the next of kin.

Thanks Smile

You mentioned his last employer and the Pension fund. They might have his bank details if they paid his salary/pension into a bank. They would also have his address details I would assume?

Hopefully! But I'm not sure if he was still in work at the time of his death. I have been told he died of alcoholic liver disease.

As Orange has said, your df's former employer should be able to give you the last adddress and bank details they have on record for him.

I find out what money was in my ex husbands Bank account? I have a certified copy of his death certificate but I am not the executor.

Ignoring the fact you've revived a 7 year old thread....

You have no right to this information. If you are a beneficiary you may get to see a copy of the estate accounts, and it might break down the estate to show what was in a particular bank account.

If you have a continuing maintenance order you would be entitled to apply for "reasonable financial provision" under the Inheritance Act, but you need to get your application in within 6 months of the grant of probate so see a solicitor quick. Any child not given reasonable financial provision may also apply under the Inheritance Act.
