does anyone have experience of an American criminal trial ?

I am supporting an american witness at the moment and it would appear from things that I have been asked that the system they are used to is very different to ours. I would like to pick someone's brains so I can better prepare my witness and explain the differences but at the moment I am flying a bit blind.

I have some experience of both the U.S and English criminal justice systems, Nigel.

What did you want to know, and will your witness be given a tour of an empty Court prior to giving evidence?
