dh's nan has passed away. Before she did she was very clear that she had made her wishes re funeral clear in her will. This is where it gets complicated!!

She made a will in the late 90's; which was all good and clearly indicated her wishes. She however fell out with her daughter in the late 2000's and made a new will with a different solicitor (no copy of this can be found in her house). she since made up with her daughter but we are not sure if she made a new will/changed it.

After her passing, her daughter (my MIL) tracked down the solicitors that dealt with the will in 2008 (mainly through driving through the town to see if they could recognise any firms) and one firm said yes, they held her will but there is nothing in it about her wishes re funeral (still awaiting death certificate et so can not get the will read yet, but want to respect her wishes regarding funeral).

As she was so adamant that her final wishes were in her will we think she may hold another one somewhere else (we can no find any evidence anywhere in her house) so my question is - how can we find out if she has registered another will somewhere?

Wills don't get registered. It might be worthwhile writing to all of the solicitors within a certain radius asking whether they hold a will for her. Look under the law society "find a solicitor" website and put your details in there for all solicitors within a certain radius.

She might have gone to a will writer aas well. Don't know how you'd find out about them. Mumblechum might know.
