I need to leave and take our 3 children with me.

I know I can claim some working tax credit and child tax credit but can I move out of a home that has my name on the mortgage, lots of debt and interest only and as for some help with housing benefits?

Bumping for you - maybe call the Citizens Advice Bureau?

PissyDust · 04/08/2012 15:03

Thanks Tante, I am going to see a housing oficer on Tuesday so I was being a bit impatient in finding my answers!!

Everything seems to take so long to sort out, I've applied for wtc & ctc but even the forms can take 2 weeks to arrive Hmm I just want to get out.

Well, same type thing financially. Interest only mortgage in negative equity, loans etc. I have been declared bankrupt but if I walk away, I think from what I have found on the internet, I would still be liable for the mortgage debt. Really scared about it all.

I feel trapped in house which is rapidly falling down cos there is no money to do anything with it. My relationship with my DP is not good and getting worse by the day. If I could find a way of walking away from the lot with DS and starting again I would.

We are in similar positions Cat I visited the housing department at our county council because I have started to look for some where to rent jjust to et us out of this horrid enviroment and he said eventually H would have to buy me out but we have a secured loan ontop of the interest only mortgage so there will be now money even if we sell we will still owe the loan.

I'm not bankrupt but my credit it dreadful although we have never defaulted on the intrest only or loan, I wonder if that will help my credit score?

Not sure about credit score... We need someone who know about this stuff!

I may have to disappear partner is in and out and peering over my shoulder, so if I do you know why!

When I declared bankruptcy they were not interested in house, cos there is nothing in it. But I think the mortgage would be classed as a new debt so I would be liable for that. Can't win. It wasn't any easy decision doing the bankruptcy. I have worked all my life never been in debt then this happens! My partner was made redundant, and was ill so that was the straw that broke the financial back.

If I'm honest, my relationship is awful. Why I thought it would work I don't know....I am relieved to be writing that down. I have piled on weight (comfort). Thats always a huge signpost for me that I'm unhappy.

He has been violent to his two previous partners, never to me, I must make that clear, but I am starting to feel the simmering anger, the "you disgust me" looks.

Oh I don't know I just feel so trapped.

Gotta go, he is definitely wondering what I am doing xxxx
