My v expensive Stoves induction hob has just cracked for no reason

I cooked dinner tonight, nothing untoward, yet when I went to wipe my Stoves induction hob when I was cleaning up, I discovered that it has a huge crack all over the top. I am certain it wasn't there when I started cooking.

The cooker cost about £2900 (I think) and we got it last April.

I know for a fact that I didn't drop anything on it, or was rough with pans. Given that it is over a year old, do you think the manufacturer will repair it on the guarantee (I think it has a 5 year guarantee) or would I be better claiming on the house insurance?

Speak with the company you bought it from, they will tell you they need an engineer out and will refer you the manu. Then speak with them

Also check any receipts and bumpfh that came with the appliance for clarity re the guarantee. If its still covered its better to leave the home insurance alone as there will be an excess to pay.
