Advice needed urgently re child contact and social services

Can social services overrule a court order? We have a court order saying what days we each have our son but social services have told my ex that as they have concerns about me he isn't to let me see my son.

Can they do that? I'm going to try and get some legal advice in the morning but not sure how quickly I'll be able to get it and have no money so the free half an hr would be all I could get (don't qualify for legal aid).

Not sure how much I can say here so don't know if I've given enough info or not.

Can anyone help? I'm completely lost.

They are there to advise. If you weren't around when the contact order was made you are a change in circumstance. You'd do better concentrating on why they are worried about you, and then dealing with that.

if you have PR and it is a court order detailing when, where and how much contact, then no they cant, with out placing child under police protection but that would involve removing the child from you. If you do not have PR and have breached the conditions of a care order placing your child at risk then yes they can. however I suspect that if they have seriouse concernes they could advice exp to stall contact untill they can get an emergancy protection order in the morning.

Im a SW and we often advise parents to stop contact if there is a Child Protection concern but would leave the final decision to the parent.
I would ask the SW what their concern is and also about supervised contact - could exp supervise or your parents.

If theyve got CP concerns they should be staying involved, if its your ex saying ive been told to stop it and that sw will then go away id question this.

If the children are safe with your exp and he has pr there is no reason for en EPO or PPO to be gained as we would use these to remove children usually
