Recommend a good criminal defense lawyer Birmingham area?

Hello,

Need some urgent advice please. A family member is on remand at HMP Hewell and I believe has been charged with a very serious section 18 :( His current brief is useless, not answering his questions via letter, hasn't been to see him about his plea and case management trial due to June, my family member isn't even 100% sure of what he's being charged with and how its all being managed. In short we desperately need a good Criminal Defense lawyer from a Birmingham/HMP Hewell region based firm

Also can I help appoint a new legal team on the outside-what documents do I need to help the process ie a signed letter from family member stating that I should act for him etc..

He is immediate family so will that give me automatic rights to help him with this..he does want my help but currently only letter writing available to him so his instructions are coming through slowly

wow thanks collaborate thats very helpful...I did think to edit that as I wasn't sure...what would have been great if you had maybe pointed me as to how I can help..MN is possibly not a good place for this type of advice :(
