20 months ago I lent a friend £500 to help him start a business. He promised to pay it back over 18 months but never made a repayment. I wrote and texted him to request payment or a renegotiation of the repayments but no response. I told him I'd go to court but nothing. So I filled in the paperwork for the SCC asking for full payment immediately. He returned pleading poverty offering £5 a month. This means it would take over 10 years to repay! I filled in the paperwork to object, this seems to have been refused and he's been ordered to pay the £5 a month.
I'm a bit peeved, this seems really unfair. I'm a single mum and could really do with my money back. Does anyone know whether there's a right to appeal the judge's decision or am I stuck with a rather bitter pill to chew?
