How easy is to hide money in a divorce settlement?

If my possibly soon to be ex h was trying to salt money away, how easy would it be to trace in terms of settling the matrimonial assets/maintenance etc. Just worry I'm going to get screwed here...

There has only been one 'full and frank exchange of financial information' during my divorce which meant that it was pretty easy for him to 'show' low accounts and explain away big purchases. 6 months on from that disclosure there is still no P60 or payslip disclosed. As far as maintenance goes, it will be calculated from his p60. I guess it depends whether you're talking quite small as in hundreds or more as to how easy it can be syphoned off for a while. Keep your chin up and hope it goes through ok for you.

I went for some advice to the solicitor before I left my H and she said she advised me to get copies of everything financial/personal/banking etc before he knew I was going.
I went home and over a couple of days collated all the paperwork and took copies.
He was very very surprised when after he had submitted his full and frank financial statement that my sol was requesting account statements he didn't know I knew about.
Be very aware that they do hide stuff.
I never thought he would do this to myself and the kids, but he has.

It's very easy to hide money because no-one digs too deep into the financial disclosure. You'll need evidence if you want to prove anything. Get copies of everything. When you get the disclosure make sure you have proper copies of statements and go through them in detail. Question anything that doesn't look right. If you know about some assets ask about them but be aware that without evidence there is not much you can do to force him to disclose.

My ex tried to hide some earnings but she left some paperwork lying around so I found out. I can't claim to be squeaky clean because I hid some investments.

Rather think that the internet dating, years of gas-lighting etc mean that I'm not too worried being caught in charge of a photocopier....
I will know his finances, even if it's not admissible evidence, but thanks for that, better to know.
