Parental guardianship if we were to both die. Help Please

My DP and I are away for the weekend with out DS (hooray!), however I had one of those 'panic in the middle of the night moments' that if we were to both die in a car crash and our DS become an orphan then neither of us have wills to indicate who we would like to become our DS legal guardian (my mum). Can I do something quickly today, without seeing a solicitor?

Contact a local solicitor - preferably one recommended - to get a will drawn up. I am doing this myself in a few weeks for the same reason! If you want something to cover you until then - I would inform all close family of your wishes - and put something in writing in the form of a letter. Not legally binding but might be taken into consideration. (I have no legal training, this is just my ideas BTW)
