Do you do a lot of washing?

I am at present cutting down on the amount of washing I do for the week. Sometimes I can be washing almost everyday.

I have four children.

Do you wash on certain days or whenever you need to?

Would love to hear from you.

What about ironing. I just fold up the clothes somtimes, iron now and then

Its great when you get help with the household chores.

Is there anyone who seems to be doing all by themselves? whether you prefer to do it that way as your fussy or no one wants to help?

Me,I do EVERYTHING by myself, all cooking, cleaning, washing, shopping, baking, childcare, educational stuff, allotmenting, the lot.

Yes, I would like some help, sometimes or at least an odd hour off, but it's not going to happen. OH is out at work 12 hours a day, DS1 is at uni, DS2 has AS and the littlies have their assorted problems, so it's all down to me.

Wow StressedHEmum you are busy.

Do you get any ME Time?

Right now I will definately be making some changes to the way I do things. It was very busy today.

The kids all helped me out. My oldest son who is 14 made me a cup of coffee. I felt quite emotional!!

Good for you, MUm2Bless, it is good to make changes and to delegate things to the kids. It is the only way that they learn to be independent adults. When I was a teenager my mum worked part time and on those days, we got ourselves out to school and then I came home and did the housework and started off the dinner for her, because it wasn't fair that she had to go to work and do all the housey stuff.

My kids sometimes give me a bit of a hand, the trouble is that the rooms are so small that there isn't any room for them to help. You know, the kind of thing where only one person can fit in the kitchen at a time and still move about. They all also have their assorted problems which makes it difficult for them, really. They are in charge of their own rooms, though (which they fail dismally at but I will not give in.)

ME time is an unheard of concept on here, except when I go on here when they are busy and I can't be bothered actually doing anything. I haven't had a day off in 20 years or a night out in over 13. Add to that the fact that they are all really poor sleepers and even the youngest isn't asleep until after 10 every night and then wakes through the night and that OH's alarm goes off at 6am every morning for work, the the kids are up around 7:30, then there isn't much time left for me.

4 DC's - a wash almost every day - or 2 washes every 3 days. Don't iron much - just the school uniforms, DH's shirts and a couple of blouses for me - but mostly I live in t-shirts and jeans.
