2-year age gap. Anyone manage without a double buggy?

I'm expecting a baby in August and DD3 will be a couple of weeks short of 2. I've had doubles before and found them really bulky and cumbersome.

Just wondering if anyone has managed with a similar age gap and avoided a double buggy. Maybe using a sling for the first few months til the toddler is walking more?

We have a tandem for ours.We had a 16 month gap then 24 months,then27 months, then 23 months, then 15 months. It's always useful to have somewhere to strap them in if you're shopping,if you're in a hurry,if they're having a paddy.Just strap them in and off you go.Mine do walk sometimes,it's just easier with the tandem in a hurry

I used a tandem for DD1 and DD2 (just short of 2 years between). Then used it a grand total of twice for DD2 and DD3 - 2.5 year age gap and much more independent child! DD1 is a lazy mare and would still sit in a buggy if I let her (at 5) whereas DD2 cannot be doing with being strapped in a buggy as you can't jump off and on as you do with a buggy board if you see something interesting. She has, however, fallen asleep on the buggy board a few times, clinging desperately to the pram handle . It's not easy pushing a pram and holding a hefty child on the board till you get home.......

PS anyone want to buy a tandem buggy??

18 months between dd and ds1 bought a double but only used it five or six times, too heavy and a pain if using buses (even park and ride) got a buggy board which is a godsend ds1 now on it as ds2 in buggy (20 month gap)considered a phil&ted but so glad I didnt bother as would have been a waste of monry as ds1 hates going in buggy now. Get a sling and then see how you get on

we have 21 months between our youngest two, but ds has problems with walking so we got a phil and teds and it is great, it gives you extra space for shopping when in town
