Did you know that you can have your water bill capped if you have 3 or more children, and are claiming tax credits. Only applicable for those on a metered supply.

All water oards do it (it is a government thing)...check the specifics with your own water board.

Anglian don't cap it, but give you a lower rate.But having just had my bill in it doesn't work out much cheaper if at all.

Am going to ring them and ask why they don't cap it like other water companies.

Thames Water is £268 a year, and our letter of acceptance came this morning! Yay!

Forgot to say - THANK YOU MUMSNET. I only came on to browse during a revision break and this chance discovery will save us quite a few quid this year.

Wish this was true in Germany too....our water usage is and costs a fortune.

I thought Anglian had 2 schemes - a capped one and a lower rate. You cshose which is best for you.

Having said that that was a couple of years ago. Maybe they have changed recently.

You'd have to be able to get Anglian to answer the blimmin phone first! I'm trying to get us put on the low user tariff, as I'm paying £4/week AND still ending up in credit each bill, but all I get is put on hold for an eternity. I will only hold for 10 mins, NO MORE! . Done that 4 times now! And I have 3 kids ALL the time, 5 kids at weekends & holidays.
