What is it like having 3 or more kids?

Just what the title says, I have 2 DCs already but I'm broody as f0ck. My youngest is now the same age that my eldest was when I got pregnant again. I come from a big family with lots of cousins and always wanted 4 kids but realistically what is life like with 3 or even 4???

Would you recommend it? If so what kind of gap do you think is best?

I have five.

Going from two to three was an easy transition, and the two additions after that were easy too. You get into a certain routine and get very organised. Yes, you are busy, and having three or more babies/ small children is physically demanding.

I loved the teen years - kids and their friends in and out of the house, never a dull moment.

We have four - two teens, two under 10s and number five on the way. We home educate and always have done, wouldn't change a thing. We're so blessed to have a busy, loving family life. No regrets at all 💕

Everything is harder the more you have. Silly things like taking them swimming (1:1 ratio), family rooms in hotels for 2 adults 2 dc only, taking them on rollercoasters/rides - always 1 left out, bigger car needed, bigger house etc.

I would advise anyone.. stick with 2

I have four, soon to be five. We love it. There’s always something fun happening around our house. I haven’t noticed less invites out etc but we actually have fewer children than the majority of our friends so that’s probably why. It’s certainly more expensive and the laundry doesn’t ever end, but the benefits outweigh those things. We are both from big families - our DC have over fifty first cousins.

@Newnamenewname109870 They cost more, they have exam stress and difficult choices to make, social media, they rebel, friendship/boyfriend issues, gender issues/confusion (not mine but rife amongst their peers), mental health issues, drugs, alcohol, you can’t put them to bed at 8pm, you can’t fix it their problems with a cuddle, you might not like their friends, they go out and you worry about them, they lie to you, they make poor decisions (with toddlers and younger kids, you’re the one making all the decisions and get to be a smug parent who thinks you’re an expert on parenting HA! Funny that you’ll never see any mummy bloggers of teens! Grin

I can totally see with all the worrying!!! Mines a bit of a nightmare though and and hard to get to bed and all the rest at aged 3, so maybe I’ll have a luckier teen time 😂

Wow! Can I ask where you live/your demographic? Where I am it’s very much 1 or 2 and that’s is.

I have 5 and bloody love it!

It is busy, huge grocery bill, endless laundry but for me it’s so so worth it.

I think it helps that the ages of mine are fairly spread out so we have DD18, DD13, DD5 and toddler twins B/G. I find I have plenty of time to spread my attention between the needs of the older ones and younger ones and I like that they all need different things are aren’t competing.

DH and I only ever planned 2 we rolled the dice on a 3rd, sadly lost our 4th our beautiful Angel and then fell with the twins. I can’t help but feel that we are so incredibly blessed every single day and other than having our angel boy here with us to join in all the fun I would change a single thing.
