Mammas - I'm in need of some experience and advice from some mammas out there. Question - when is the best time to have another baby. I mean like when would be the best time for a first born to be acceptive and receptive to a newborn brother / sister. Let me know in the comments xx

There is definitely no correct answer. What works for one family will not another. My two children are 15 months apart. I wouldn't change it at all but the first year was SO hard as we didn't have any family help and the baby had silent reflux which was so hard. I have a friend who had the same gap and found it really easy.

No idea, probs depends on the kids temperament and your own life circumstances as a family etc. My DC2 was born when DC was a little over 3yrs old and in terms of sibling relationship alone, so far it's been great. Youngest is 1.5 now and the two of them have always absolutely adored each other. They've just started to fight a little bit, youngest is getting boisterous and starting to test boundaries, so I'm sure that can of worms has only just began to open and will get more challenging in future like. But DC1 is a mother hen by nature and so tolerant and kind to DC2, shes completely surpassed any expectations I could have had of her.

We tried for our second (together) in order to have a very small age gap but it didn't quite work out and we ended up having 2.5 years between. It worked out really well as we only needed a double pushchair for the briefest time, and we had one at preschool so it was easier during the day. But still close enough that they are close and shared very similar likes (not so much now they are teenagers, but they do get on well). So for me that gap was perfect!

NB DH's oldest two are 15 months apart and fought like cat and dog when the were younger. They were very competitive!

Ours are 2 years 4 months apart and it’s been a great age gap so far.
