Hi, I'm booked in for a ç section in 3 weeks time with baby number 4, I'm 36 weeks and this pregnancy seems to have flown by. I can't believe I'm going to have 4 DC!

Anyone else due with a 4th+ want to chat?

@Mamascoven congratulations! Which double buggy did you get? I'm in two minds, because dc3 hates her buggy at the moment so thinking of using a buggy board instead.
I'm worried she's going to be very jealous, she's already a bit jealous of my other children, like when they come and sit on y lap. It's terrible, I think it's also because she is a "covid baby" and very fusional.

When did you all start showing with your fourth baby?

Littlezoo · 02/02/2022 19:07

Congrats everyone!

I'm 24 weeks with number 5, starting to think I've lost the plot 😂

Pinkflamingofly · 04/02/2022 12:34

Congratulations @Littlezoo how's your pregnancy going?

I found out I'm having twins 😱😱😱😱
So these are going to be baby number 4 and 5!!!

Littlezoo · 05/02/2022 12:54

@Pinkflamingofly wow twins! Congratulations
I think I would possibly faint if I got told twins 😂

Compared to my other pregnancies this one is plain sailing but feels like it's truly dragging x

Does anyone remember if strong braxton hicks at nearly 30 weeks are normal? Overdid it a bit today, but its been pretty much constant since late afternoon, even tho have been pretty much sitting on the sofa since 3 pm

TheMagicDeckchair · 12/02/2022 17:44

@Pinkflamingofly I have twins, my eldest was 3 & 4 months when the babies arrived. When they were tiny, we used a Silvercross Wave and clipped the car seats in. Used a buggy board for eldest.

Once they reached 6 months I struggled to carry them in the car seats and the tandem pram was more unwieldy so shifted over to an Out N About double nipper. Not easy to attach a buggy board though, but eldest sometimes perched on the front if she was tired of walking. It’s a great pushchair and handles a bit of off-roading too.

Other twin mums like the mountain buggy, one baby in a sling etc. Plenty of groups on Facebook if you want to do some early research.

Pinkflamingofly · 13/02/2022 13:17

Thank you for the tips @TheMagicDeckchair

coffeecup88 · 16/02/2022 09:22

Hi all, congratulations on all the expected and arrived babies Smile thank you for sharing your stories and all the positivity here.

We've just found out I'm expecting a (shock) DC4. Still in absolute shock tbh. DH is very very quiet on the subject tooConfused

I'll be honest and say, at the moment I'm just super anxious about everything. My age, the age gaps, going back to baby stage, the finances, my career. I'm not sure when I'll start to feel better about all that?!?

Booked for an early scan in 3 weeks so maybe that will help 🤞 I'm dreading telling people. They think you're nuts when you say you're expecting a 3rd let alone a 4th!! My best friend is expecting her DC1 after IVF so it'll be difficult telling her too. I might just hide under a rock 🙈

Pinkflamingofly · 16/02/2022 10:59

Congratulations @coffeecup88 ! How old are your other children? I get what you mean about telling other people. I was so scared of telling my own parents lol but they were ok

Pinkflamingofly · 16/02/2022 10:59

@BlabBlub @Stopcallingmemum how are you doing? Have your babies arrived?

coffeecup88 · 16/02/2022 11:06

@Pinkflamingofly

Congratulations *@coffeecup88* ! How old are your other children? I get what you mean about telling other people. I was so scared of telling my own parents lol but they were ok
Thanks. I have 3 DDs - they will be just turned 10/7/5 when this arrives. I've got to say your surprise twins story made me feel queasy! How are you adjusting to the idea?
coffeecup88 · 16/02/2022 11:08

@Pinkflamingofly I should also say my
Mum is a 4th child and ILs are from families of 4/6 children too so I think immediate family will be unfazed but I can imagine the looks at the school gate 😣

Pinkflamingofly · 16/02/2022 12:28

@coffeecup88 that'll be a great age gap between your last and baby. I have the same between baby 2 and 3, and it made things so much easier. I'm sure school mums will be happy for you, if not they're probably jealous 😉 I'm not going to tell anyone, apart from a few nice ones. I'm still adjusting to the idea of having twins, I think I'm a bit in denial. I was already worried about space, now I just avoid thinking about it 🙈 burying my head in the sand

coffeecup88 · 16/02/2022 13:23

Thank that's reassuring re the age gap. Im a bit daunted about going back to the baby stage but it is a good advantage to have time at home whilst the others are at school.

We live in a little village so once we tell our kids even the farm cats will know about it. Last time I got pregnant someone told me they'd found out by overhearing the gossip in the local Sainsbury's 🙄

I'm with you on the head in sand strategy. That and maybe bunk beds. Smile

Stopcallingmemum · 16/02/2022 13:29

Congratulations @Pinkflamingofly!! You come round to the idea.. only took me till about 35 weeks to accept I was pregnant and not just fat lol a couple of the school mum's only realised Im pregnant a couple of weeks ago.. I hide under my massive coat for the whole 9 months lol
I'm now officially overdue.. angry and the size of a house! My poor kids are not having the best half term. Lol xx

Pinkflamingofly · 16/02/2022 21:20

Oh no @Stopcallingmemum i hope baby wont make you wait much longer. Were tour mother babies also overdue? Wow I'm impressed those mums never realised you were pregnant. You must be super fit!

@coffeecup88 haha that's some serious gossiping going on in your village 🤣 I understand what you mean now, impossible to keep a secret. I have to admit I find the baby stage very daunting, those first two months are sooo tough

Pinkflamingofly · 16/02/2022 21:20

@Stopcallingmemum I meant were your other babies, not your mother 🤣🤣

headspin10 · 04/03/2022 11:53

@BlabBlub I realise I'm late to this thread but hope all has gone well for you and your 4th baby is here now?

Your situation sounds v similar to mine. I'm 27 weeks with #4. it was a surprise all round. My partner was not happy. He seems more positive now thankfully. I'm both worried about how we will cope and excited.

We have a 10 yo, 6 yo and nearly 2 year old. (All girls and expecting our 4th girl too- so many negative comments about that which makes me sad.)

Really hope all going well for you all ♥️.

17in · 04/03/2022 12:40

Hi... Just to update I had mine on the 20/02, she's slotted in perfectly.. no jealousy, everyone's happys.. prep and planning a head is the key lol @headspin10 I was so worried about looking all a bit tragic/chavy/can't cope mum and all the comments of oh you have your hands full rubbish.. but now she's here I couldn't care less lol

Today's q bitch of a day... Got 2 with a sick bug, 1 toddler and a newborn on 0 sleep! Gonna be a long day lol

coffeecup88 · 04/03/2022 21:13

Congrats @headspin10 I would love a 4th girl! We love our girl gang here.

coffeecup88 · 04/03/2022 21:17

Congrats @17in
Sorry things are tough for you with the vomiting bug, talk about bad timing. I hope it passes quickly!

I've found this thread very inspiring and positive so thank you all for it. I'm now 7 weeks and feel so so sick (worst MS so far I think) but my husband has suddenly become more positive about the pregnancy and I've stopped crying all the time. Hurrah :)

I have an early scan booked for next week and just hoping all is well with it.

headspin10 · 04/03/2022 21:32

Thanks so much @coffeecup88 🥰

headspin10 · 04/03/2022 21:33

@17in Really glad your 4th is here safely! But that sounds like a really tough time you're having Sad Really hope everyone is better soon.

headspin10 · 04/03/2022 21:34

@coffeecup88
Oh morning sickness is so hideous isn't it. Really feel for you. Congratulations!! Hope all goes great with the scan ♥️

BlabBlub · 05/03/2022 19:18

Hi everyone sorry I've been a bit Mia. DC 4 is here. He is nearly 3 weeks old now. He has fitted in well and all is good. I had a c section so I can't lift my toddler which is very frustrating. If it wasn't for that, everything would just feel like it did with 3dc. DH goes back to work on Monday and I'm dreading it!

Wow @Pinkflamingofly! Congratulations on the twin news! Amazing!
