I got a 7 seater when I had dc3. Kinda wish I hadn’t bothered. We never use the back seats, and with them up we can’t fit a buggy. I heard afterwards that you can buy a system for kids to fit in the back. Multimac or similar. Have a look on google before you buy something, it will help figure out practicalities, and you can go for a 5 seater if that works best.

Also recommend electric or hybrid. Apparently electric cars don’t need servicing and are cheaper to run. They will hold value better.

I've got a a seat alhambra. I have 3 girls 13, 11 and 2 (pg with 4) and it's fab! There are 5 isofix seats and they all good flat, move etc. It's like a van when the seats are all down! It also helps if you want to take another person someone as you have the option of extra seats!

Dp has a landrover and the back seats are shite. They're all a squashed and you'd never fit 3 car seats in. The boot is crap as well.

A Volvo XC90, they have a built in booster seat in the middle of the middle row seats and the boot is massive with the back seats down. If you’re not bothered about a 7 seater go for the XC60. Volvos are safe, comfortable and lovely to drive, but they’re not the cheapest car around. That being said my Volvo is a very old one as I didn’t want to spend more than 3.5k and I see loads of them around, so you can get one for almost any reasonable budget you just have to accept it will be an older car.

We had SMax and now a Galaxy. I had three car seats across back in both, no problems.
