My baby to my cousins baby?

This is a super random question and had no idea where to post it in terms of topic and now looking at the subject I put it sounds utter bonkers! But there is a question to my madness.

I’ve been trying to figure this out for ages and somehow family do not agree but then also can’t figure it out.

I have a daughter and my cousin (1st) has a son... what does that make them? 2nd cousins? Third cousins?

Additionally... to pick your brains a bit more...
I have a daughter and my uncle has a daughter. What does that make them? 2nd cousins? 3rd cousins?

It will help settle the confusion!

Thanks in advance x

Cousin to cousin =second cousin. Cousin to cousin's dc =second cousin once removed.
I have always thought anyway!!

DD and cousins child -2nd cousins

Uncles child (your cousin) and DD - 1st cousins once removed

The "removed" part is added when going up or down generations. 1st, 2nd etc when going further away in the same generation.

The chart makes it easy.

My children to my couson's children = second cousins (because there are 2 generations between them and the common link- their great grandparents)

My daughter to my first cousin = first cousins once removed. There's one generation between my first cousin and the common link, and the closest link counts, so 'first'. Once removed comes in because they are different generations- in this case one generation apart.

Lol too long winded, my children just call my cousin's children their cousins makes things much easier!

This is only the cousins I'm close to and see regularly that my children and theirs are close in age and play together that they refer to each other as cousins.

My other cousins who I rarely see, my children wouldn't even know who they were let alone their children so I'd just refer to them as "distant family".

My children don't have any "real" cousins yet as neither my brother or my SIL have children.
