Hi there, does anybody have any experiences of keeping in close contact with families over long distances. Looking to hear about what the impact it has had on you and how you've kept relationships close, would be really great to hear how it's done

Can you say a bit about why you’d like to know?

I have lived overseas for over 24 years and have plenty of experience of this. With skype and various apps (we use wechat) it's easier and cheaper than ever to maintain contact with family and friends.

My sisters (and parents though now dead) live 3000 miles away. We text. Occasionally Skype when need to discuss family issues (mainly to do with our parents estate). I see them about once a year. I have done this since I was 20. I’d say we’re close, but we’re adults and don’t need to be in daily contact to feel that way.
