Witnessed my sister batter my niece

My sister is staying at my house having a holiday as I live in a seaside town and she has eight kids so it's cheaper than a holiday
I've got a five bedroom house so plenty of room for my nieces n nephews.
My sister is always having this crazy on off relationship with her youngest four baby daddy tbf he is a prick. So she's off at the moment n she's stressed
She smokes weed to calm down
This obviously annoys me her children age 13-11 weeks two of which are autistic n have adhd.
So with my three children n her eight granted it's busy n loud n kids fall out
But she is the worst like she screams shouts constantly my head hurts
She doesn't listen to them or interact with them.
Then the 11/12 year old did something which was refused to leave a room once and my sister who had hold of the baby at the time chucked it in his bouncer n literally dragged her from one room to another by her head. Child was crying n she was still screaming n shouting n hitting her
I didn't know where to look or what to do.

She's previously told me her oldest n third oldest girls have been hitting her.
But after a few hours here seeing her parents skills I'm not surprised
They are copying her behaviour n lashing out n also forced to protect themselves

It's unbearable to see n I have no idea what to do
If I said anything she'd flip her lid on me

N I think she needs too I really do

Does she have any contact with social services at the moment? I think you need to let them know what you witnessed, or contact them yourself if not.

When your sister is calmer, can you talk to her about how she is interacting with the children and that hitting/physical attacks are going to make matters worse. You will have to tell her that you will stop her from doing that again whilst she's staying with you, and mean it.

I doubt she will lose the kids. But she does need some support. Does she know this is wrong in the cold light of day? You need to tell her to contact social services herself before someone else does.

No she doesn't have contact with social services but she ought too
If they seen how she behaved around them kids she wouldn't have any

Her oldest kids always wanting to sleep out and now I know why ~ I feel helpless

I really wanna phone nspcc or something
But I'd have to stay anonymous as my family would disagree with me

I'd take some of her kids but I couldn't take them all

I've three of my own

You need to report her. Take the kids side not here. They need protecting.

The job of parents is to protect their children. The parent in this case is not protecting their child. In fact, the parent is the cause of harm.

I do not understand why an adult would allow more harm to come to a CHILD because they don't want to upset another adult. Your family might be angry with you? Fine. But who the fuck is going to stop this. Get a grip here. Protect the child. Report to SS.

I said I didn't know where to put myself
My sister is unhinged at the best of times if I say anything she's start on me

I've come here to ask for advice in what to do as I know this can't carry on n something needs doing about it

OP you need professional advice, either from a social worker or NSPCC. Go ahead and contact either. Don't waste time arguing with randoms on the Internet.

She SHOULD lose them. And should also start using contraception.

How could you watch your niece being dragged from room to room and not do anything?

MN is the worst. The OP is asking for help in a very serious situation and someone picks on the word baby daddy?! I’m 30 and from london and people use that term in my age bracket and where I’m from. It means the father of the baby who the mum may not be in a relationship with. Jeez, not hard to grasp unless you live on a different planet.

OP, you need to report her, and if she does that in your house again please stop it happening.

Ok sorry. The story just seems so full of stereotypes it couldnt be real. The question about a house wasnt classist but to determine one of the facts which i doubted. Op if its true you need to report

Just report her. Also bare in mind that it is illegal to 'suffer' anyone to smoke weed in your property without reporting them. I don't think anyone has been trued for this in like a decade but don't admit to breaking the law just as an aside and general life advice.

You can phone the NSPCC anonymously and they can talk you through how to report her.

You need you step up as aunty and protect those kids.

You can call NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.

Their website says:

"Don't wait until you're certain if you are worried about a child. If you have any concerns or suspicions, contact our free helpline service to speak to an NSPCC counsellor 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We will listen to your concerns, offer advice and support and can take action on your behalf if a child is in danger.

You don’t have to tell us who you are if you don’t want to, or you can ask us not to share your name or contact with the police or social services."

I just rang nspcc while they were out at the beach then two came back n disturbed me n I put phone down as I panicked
I didn't know who was walking through the door
I hadn't got round to giving names n address
