Just wondering how many children everyone has and how old they are? What do you class as a big family?

I only have 3 but i’d class 4 or over as a bigger family. Dm had a 3.5yo, 12mo & newborn twins.

HelenaJustina · 04/05/2018 17:58
  1. I think that’s a big family these days. But I grew up in a much bigger one!
YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 04/05/2018 18:00

I have 7, so definitely a big family. I would class 4 and over as a larger family

surferjet · 04/05/2018 18:01

But I’d class 5 plus as a big family.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 04/05/2018 18:01

Sorry forgot the ages . 11,10,9,7,5,4 and 5 months

UAEMum · 04/05/2018 18:02

I have 5 kids: 18; 16; 14; 13 and 4. I would say anything over 3 is a big family

Aprilmightbemynewname · 04/05/2018 18:02

11 Shock Grin

mummabearfoyrbabybears · 04/05/2018 18:45

We have four children. Three went to plan and our bonus bean is nearly 5. It doesn't feel like we are a large family although it does feel like a lot of children if we meet up with our friends who also have four. My children are all paid for and supported by us, no benefits are claimed if that's important to anyone Hmm

mummabearfoyrbabybears · 04/05/2018 18:47

Sorry they're 18,16,12 and 5.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 04/05/2018 18:52

I only clicked on this thread because as a mother of an only I was interested in the dynamics of larger families. Holy shit, 11? I can't even begin to comprehend.
Are you still saneGrin

Sleep10 · 04/05/2018 19:09

10 children here, 5 boys & 5 girls.

Sleep10 · 04/05/2018 19:10

Sorry forgot to add
12, 11, 9, 8, 7, twins @ 6, 4, 2, 11 months. I class 5 and over a large family 😊

Aprilmightbemynewname · 04/05/2018 19:10

Still sane (ish) don't drink or smoke!!
Think cortisol keeps me going!!

CheeseTheDay · 05/05/2018 18:41

I class anything four and above as a large family.

I have six, DS1 (15), DD1 (12), DD2/DS2 (10), DD3 (7) and DS3 (4).

DH and I are both from large families, I'm also one of six, and he's one of ten. No way was I going to have that many though!

youngnomore · 05/05/2018 18:46

I have 4 and I consider us a large family.
17 ,15, 13 & 3.

Sarcy · 06/05/2018 16:16

I’d say 4 and up is quite big. I have 6, ages 2, 5, 8, 9 (very close to 10), 11 and 13.

holycityzoo · 07/05/2018 16:16

I have four plus two step children who's mum died young who is m very close to and love as much as my own.
25,21,13,7,4 and 3.
I think 4+ as a big family.

holycityzoo · 07/05/2018 16:16

*im very close to.

Mum2fourrugrats · 09/05/2018 20:28

I have 4 and we want to try for number 5 in 3 years when I'm 40. I've always wanted to be a mum it's all I've ever wanted to do. I live the hectic noisy busy life.

Montsti · 14/06/2018 20:02

I have 4 - ages 8, 6, 3 & 8 months...

3 seems to be the new “2” where I am (not in the UK) and there seem to be a lot of only children too...

I would say 4+ is a large family as 3 is completely normal...

animaginativeusername · 14/06/2018 20:11

4 children aged 18 (19 in couple of months), 17, 16 and 5 year old. Was happy with three kids, then youngest happened who thug unplanned I think completes us. I do think we are a big family, and am from a family of 8 children

rosamore · 18/06/2018 15:07

We have 6; aged 7, 7, 6, 6 and two week old twins (not 3 sets of twins - includes step children).

I am one of 8 myself; aged 41, 37, 34, 30, 28, 27,19 and 19.

Madhouse2018 · 19/06/2018 16:14

I consider 4 or more a large family. We have 4 and I'm not sure if we'll have more. Everyone says "you'll know when you're done" but I dont know how I feel yet and DH is the same.ConfusedHmm

DragonboysMum · 19/06/2018 16:30

I have 5.
20, 18, 3, 2, 4 months.
