how old when you had last baby?

I have 3dc, youngest 6 and half. I am 39 this month. We would like another baby but have i left it too late? Dh 41 this year.

Worried i will ttc and become obsessed if it doesnt happen or the risk of mc being higher now. Mc at 31 and found i was obsessed with getting pregnant again almost like i had to prove to myself i could do it.

Would love to hear others experiences?

I am 43 and have 6 month old ds2. Ds1 is 8 and dd is 6. I did have a mmc 2 years before having ds2, but my pregnancy with him was fine and healthy, although he arrived 3.5 weeks early after a couple of small bleeds towards the end of the pregnancy. Miscarriage is sadly so common and having had one it did make me worry more through my last pregnancy but ds2 is healthy and happy.

I had baby no 4 at 2 weeks before my 40th birthday and baby no 5 2 months before my 43rd birthday. No problems with either pregnancy.

Thanks for replies guys! Despite thinking wecwould just throw caution to the wind and see what happens i am obsessing already!! Had two days of spotting Mon/Tue and this normally means af on way but had nothing since so currently freaking out thinking my menstrual cycle has suddenly gone to pot just as we decide to go for it!!!

Last baby at 35. I'm 40 now, and there is no way I could go through another pregnancy now. Plenty do though! Keep us posted

DD was born when I was 41 and I am certainly not the oldest in my circle of friends to have had a baby, you've got plenty of time left, good luck

I had DC3 at 42, he's now a gorgeous energetic 19 month old!

I have 6, with last 3 at 39, 41 and 43. Straightforward enough pregnancies, though a miscarriage between each of the three x

I had my final dd at 40, 'tis all good!

I have 5DC, expecting DC6 in the summertime - had them at ages 34, 37, 40, 42, 45 and am going to be 48 in October........

I had my last a few months short of 35. Four SPD pregnancies in under 6 years nearly killed me, couldn't cope with another one.

31 I am 36 now and DH 45 and we are always being asked when we are having another one. I would consider it up until about 40.

Ooo i'm feeling inspired by all you mummys having babies into your 40's!!!

diege loveandsmiles have you felt it harder the older you get? I worry that recovery will be much harder for me at 39 than it was at 32. With the others i was out and about at mother and toddler groups within the first few days (mostly because i had older toddlers and they needed to get out to keep me sane!!)
