PREGNANT WHILE ON PILL - Dont know what to do

Hi, I have just found out I'm pregnant with number 5. I have 4 gorgeous kids and am 40 years old. Everything going really well and feel like I'm totally past the whole 'baby' thing and finally have time for my husband and myself and our family as a whole. Have no help from family or outsiders and my husband works very long hours to support us. Have always wanted 4 kids and am lucky to have them. However, I am on the pill and take it as I should but I have just found out I am pregnant!! Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you do? My head is telling me we absolutely cannot cope with another child (or twins even cos of my age). I am older now and we don't have space at home, time/finances are stretched as it is etc etc and my heart is telling me to look at it as a blessing and we'll get through it and be ok. Totally split and don't know what to do but obviously need to decide soon (and don't want to regret whatever we decide). Thank you.

How old are your other children? I think it depends on how 'over' the baby bit you are and also massively on what your husband thinks. How does he feel? How do you feel it will affect you and how will it impact on the other children? I think if in your situation I would keep an open mind. I am not normally pro abortion but if you feel your family is complete and you would be risking everyone's happiness and well being by trying to continue with the pg then maybe it's for the best? n the other hand, you may have bags of energy and feel (once over the initial shock) that an extra one won't be too much extra work for you? I really is entirely dependant upon your situation. Good luck. I hope everything works out OK whatever you decide.

Thank you so much. My other kids are 10, 8, 5 and 2 so I'm still in the zone but just didn't plan on having any more. My husband is very supportive and says ultimately it's up to me and he'll support me with whatever decision I make. As it turns out, today i decided to go ahead with the pregnancy. Hopefully everything will be ok. My other kids will be over the moon and although it will be exhausting we'll make it work. Feel like a huge weight's been lifted off my shoulders now that we've decided and although it's not what we planned and I'm still shocked, i figured by the time the baby's born I'll have had time to get over the panic and shock (but will never go on the pill again). Thank you so much. J
