I have 10,7,4 & 8 month twins, it takes twice as long to do anything out and about. Firstly because twins attract a lot of attention but then they stay talking when they realise I have 5 kids. Some days it's fine others it's just a pain in the arse.
Get all the usual comments on hands full etc, my go to answer for the "how do you cope" comment is to say I drink, they never know how to take that and usually ends the conversation.

I have four, would love another but I just can't. I've never said it but I think a good response might be "what kids?" Grin

Haha, I was just talking about this to DH earlier! My DC are 6, 4, 2 and 5 months and I get constant stares and comments. I just get on with it as you do, but I think you're very right OP, it must look crazy from the outside Grin

I was on a tram with my youngest 3 today and a woman said to me "wow you're a busy mum!!" and the rest of the people on the tram started making comments too as I walked down the aisle to get off... I just replied, oh this is one of my quieter days, my eldest is at school Grin

People do always rush to help me, which is nice but mainly not necessary, so definitely think it must look crazier from the outside. And I am sure everyone in the school playground just knows me as the mum with 4 kids...

I never think four is many, they're all so different and it just seems normal. I mean, I don't sit and count them!

Other people's big families look like there are more dc's, because I don't know them.

Just like other people always seem more organised, or their houses are more tidy...Grin
