anyone with 4 or more children got a dog?

we are thinking of getting a dog, we have 4 children (aged 4 to 11), just wondering whether anyone else has a dog with a largeish family and whether it is just too much to manage the dog as well as the brownies, cubs, swimming, dancing etc runs!

We have 4 dcs (7,5,3, 18mths) and 3 dogs - working collie (dh uses on farm) old collie x lab ( potters around now - too old and stiff to go for long walks) and 9mth Patterdale Terrier - complete PITA! but she means I have to walk for a least an hour every morning so dd2 and I get out for exercise and fresh air. Ds1 takes her for a run in the fields by the house when he gets in from school. Good luck with the new addition x

We have 3DCs and are TTC #4 and have a big labradoodle. It is a bit of work (and yes, sometimes a PITA to get his walk done when we've had a v busy day and it's raining hard outside) but he is definitely part of the family and no way would I not have a dog. In fact, the DCs have been pestering us for another dog but I thought if successful TTCing I'd like to get DC4 introduced first......

It makes me get out of the house for his walk, and to be honest, he's very good company

we have 5 children and 2 dogs. TBH no harder work than the kids

I have 4 kids aged 5 to 13 and 2x golden Labradors the oldest English golden lab dog is 6 and the youngest American golden Labrador is 2 next week they are amazing pets so it depends on what type of dog you want i do have to say the oldest dog grows at my youngest child i have no idea why it could be jealousy because he was here before my youngest child

There is 7 people in the house , but he only growls at the youngest

I also have a rabbit that is free to roam the garden and the dogs do not attack it
