Bar Mitzvah- questions about gifts!

Just looking for some advice please

We're not Jewish, but have been invited to the party for my neighbour's Bar Mitzvah. It's at their house. Do we need to take anything for the hosts?

Also, I'm assuming cash would be a suitable present- but how much do I give?

Thank you in advance!

I’d bring a bottle of wine and a gift for the Bar Mitzvah. The tradition is gifts in multiples of 18 - my daughter got £36 a lot. You can get Bar Mitzvah cards online and it was lovely that so many of our friends made the effort.

(18 is a special number as it spells Life in Hebrew. So it’s like a good luck wish for the child)

Thank you so much @PurpleThistle7 ! That's exactly the kind of info I needed. Do I need to specifically get kosher wine?

If you look on Sabeny they have kosher wine ‘and’ bar mitzvah cards so can be sure!
