Any Jewish Mumsnetters considering aliyah and facing family disagreements about it

Is anyone here considering making Aliyah? And if so, is this causing a fracture in your family? I'm the only one who actively wants to go - the others are 'wait and see'. I feel it is time to leave the UK - it's becoming a very uncomfortable place to live as a jew.

I'm too old to make Aaliyah (78) but if I was younger I would go, no hesitation. It wouldn't matter what other family members thought. I wish you good luck.

Constant battle in my family. I'm the only non-Israeli citizen. I won't go because my mum won't go and I won't leave her. But I don't know about our future here, and, most importantly, I'm worried about my children. But I also don't want them growing up hearing sirens etc. One of my cousins has essentially gone mad from the stress of wars (long before Oct 7). Husband will be at the airport the second I say yes.

It is difficult, but with the current political climate I feel it is sensible to open up an aliyah application.

I fear for this country and the path it's going down. I'd rather be in israel, despite the difficulties they face.

As an Anglo who lives in Israel, whilst for me it was absolutely the right decision, it is not an easy place to live and is not the right answer for everybody. I still have children in the UK who, for all sorts of reasons, would not consider making aliya. I also have children in Israel who made aliya long before I did and who did so before the current political climate.
