Is there an event or celebration today in the west mids for Jewish families?

I was on my usual commute today between Birmingham and Shrewsbury and the train was packed full of families, at least 100 who all seemed to be travelling together. Kids seemed very excited. I think they were orthodox however I’m not very educated on this.
I’m just nosy, and wondered where they were all off to? I wish I’d asked now as we made some conversation however I’d thought google would know. Sorry if this comes across rude or ignorant, I really don’t mean to be, I’m just nosy and like to learn new things about other religions and cultures

This is the time of year where a lot of Orthodox families go on holiday. Often they rent out a venue in the Peaks or Wales. Could be something like that!

I see, that makes sense. There were so many people!

There were a lot of orthodox families holidaying in Aberystwyth that weekend. I think they rent out university accommodation and go en masse
