Just what the title says really. Post your favourite quotes or the ones you think are meaningful on this thread

You can explain why or just post the quote

“We do not have to apologise for anything. We are a people as all other peoples; we do not have any intentions to be better than the rest...

We do not have to account to anybody, we are not to sit for anybody’s examination and nobody is old enough to call on us to answer. We came before them and will leave after them.

We are what we are, we are good for ourselves, we will not change, nor do we want to.”

I have two I'd like to share.

One is 'tzedek, tzedek tirdof' 'Justice, justice you shall pursue'

Ruth Bader Ginsberg famously had it on her office wall.

And the other is pasted below.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg a wonderfully strong woman

"Everyday we live is a victory" Says it all really, about our history and the fight against those that want us gone. Plus the strength of Jewish people to fight for survival.

My favourite quote - well actually what I try to live by is, "Sheva Yipol Tzaddik V'Kom", a righteous person falls down 7 times and gets up. Falling is going to happen, we're going to 'fail' again and again, we're human, but it's the getting back up that makes someone a tzaddik. I guess in modern day language it's a growth mindset?

And just seen today, and definitely shot straight to my number 2 ...
"As a Jew
I get to use the space laser."

Seriously, though, when do I get a turn??!

Shabbat Shalom

I have always like this one. He had the same slightly pointed humour as my father. This is something I can imagine my father saying to someone

Only a fool trips up on the stone behind him. Can’t remember where I heard that but I like it, despite often tripping up on the stones behind me.

'I'm jewish enough for Hitler'. My mother and grandparents always said it when relevant to the discussion. And they're right! (I'm 100% jewish but not observant and don't 'look jewish').
