Safe area for Jewish mumsnetters? Are you kidding me

Seems that people still feel it is appropriate to write on this board which is supposed to be a safe space for Jewish mumsnetters telling us what is and isn’t anti-Semitism and whether or not what we experience is anti-Semitic. I suppose the fact that protesters with Palestinian flags were verbally abusive to people leaving St John’s Wood synagogue who had to be escorted home by police is a justifiable protest in her eyes. Where does it end and where is the line drawn?

This is not a 'safe space'. No free-access forum is. It is merely a forum.

Not excusing that poster's shameful behaviour.

Mumsnet doesn't give a shit. Antisemitic posts have been allowed to stand and even posters with several deletions for antisemitism are allowed to keep their accounts.

This isn't just on the Jewish Mumsnetters forum, I'm afraid. Lots of racism/ gaslighting going on on the Black, and South Asian forums too.

Oh yes, but I already knew about that. The level of antisemitism on Mumsnet and in the country is a fairly new revelation to me.

Agreed. Would love to know how many are new posters. Saying that, I’ve recognised a couple of longstanding posters making comments that made me raise my eyebrows.

New posters need to have a new symbol by there username for 4 weeks. Name changes would be fine but new users need to be easier to spot.

Multiple deleted antisemitic post users need to have account deleted. It would probably mean they just open a new account but they are then classed as new users for 4 weeks. So at least that would be a slight punishment. Could make the rethink posting fuckwit things.

What gets me is that this board doesn't appear in Active Conversations, so that means anyone coming here to stir/troll/ whatever must have actively searched for it.

Yep

Though of cause they will claim that they are not obsessed with Jewish people

Same goes for any thread on mumsnet in general that mentions Jews or antisemitism. Posters rock up any talk about nothing to do with the conversation. Start making excuses as to why their own or someone else post isn't antisemitic. Tell you they are not obsessed with Jews. Then proceed to go through a list of key words they think will upset Jewish people throughout their next few posts, even though nothing they are saying has anything to do with the thread.

Yup, I got followed over here a while back under a different username.
