Can I give Premium Bonds to someone over 16?

I have tried googling, but it just talks about children under 16.

My dc are 13 and 16.
In the past, if I've had a bit of money to spare I've bought them Premium Bonds. This has been completely ad hoc.
Now that DS is 16, I no longer have access/control of his account.

Is it possible to gift premium bonds to an adult?

No, it’s not possible unfortunately. As soon as my DS turned 16, he was only able to buy PB from his own bank account.

Premium Bonds are not like a 16 multi-pack big-bag of Crisps :

You can't swap them with friends or even family ,
go to the NS&I website : AND upon Death of the registered holder ,
there is a Protocol to follow , much like Probate .

You either OWN Premium Bonds or you don't , you can easily cash them
in with the proper NS&I forms and advice :
They may ask for proof of ID and bank details -
NS&I don't like to issue cheques any more
