DH (who has ADHD, this is relevant) and I need to sit down and look in detail at our investments and pensions around in 2024.

We've had various financial advisers in the past and haven't been impressed (and their advice hasn't led to better performance than my self- investments).

DH has NO interest in managing money (I look after our family budget, he works hard in a creative occupation), but he really needs to get a grasp of this so we can make joint decisions, especially about his DC pension before he starts drawdown in the next few years.

His ADHD means he's never read a book and has a short attention span for things he's not interested in - so we need either really good videos or, at a push, some good podcasts, which go through the fundamentals. As waffle-free as possible!

Please can anyone recommend resources that aren't books?

Or are there any courses anyone could recommend? TIA.

I second Meaningful Money and Damian talks money on you tube (I would say he is more appealing to the younger generation).

Both Meaningful Money and James Shack are very informative. I'm not sure how appealing they might be for someone with a short attention span with no interest in finance to begin with.

For super simple, easy listening, and clear ideas in a blunt, funny and entertaining way I would try Dave Ramsey's 'The Ramsey Show'.
It's a US-based phone-in show (YouTube and podcast), but the concepts do provide a sound start for financial planning even in the UK.
Listen to the episodes that actually have Dave Ramsey on (there are a number of hosts which vary each day, but Dave is more entertaining). A very easy way to start if you listen to the podcast in the car. Their financial plan is a series of 'Baby-steps' which are very easy to grasp.

They will reference US pension products, so for ease of listening:
Roth IRA - roughly equivalent benefits to an ISA.
401K - roughly equivalent to the UK workplace pension or SIPP.
