Letting out house - tax being deducted automatically?

Recieve rental income monthly but for last few months 10% is taken for HMRC on statement, anyone know why?

As per pp, I think you must live outside the UK. If so this is standard.

You need to do a non-resident landlord form which you can download off the government website. Provide this to your agent and they can send rental payments in full, it means you are responsible for sorting any tax yourself

If you have UK rental income it's taxable in the UK.

Anyway you need to tell HMRC about all the previous years.

I thought NRL deduction should be 20% so do query this with the agents.
